Volunteer With Us!

Over the years, Gulf Specimen Marine Laboratory has had numerous volunteers and we are always looking for more people to help! As a non-profit, we rely on the work of volunteers to keep our mission and our facility going. Our volunteers have ranged from high school seniors and college students doing independent studies to scientists, educators, and CEO’s from business and industry. While some work is on the water, the majority is aquarium maintenance and animal care, plumbing, and working on our buildings and grounds. Field trips are an important part of Gulf Specimen’s work. We need aquarium docents who enjoy the energy of excited and exuberant school children. We also have a need for computer skills, graphics development, and data entry. Most importantly, we need fund raisers and proposal writers to keep it all going. If you are interested in volunteer opportunities, please contact us in the form below. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. You can contact our Volunteer Coordinator Leslie Breland at  at [email protected]
