 Members of the aquarium enjoy free  admission to the aquarium for the length of membership, a quarterly members  newsletter, a yearly members only field trip email updates on special events and a  discount off all items in our gift shop

There are currently four levels of Gulf Specimen membership:

Individual Membership – includes complimentary admission for the named member for one (1) year.

Family Membershi- includes complimentary admission for four (4) named members, and two(2) additional guests per visit, for one(1) year.

Patron Membership – includes complimentary admission for the named member, and seven (7) additional guests per visit, for one (1) year.

Life Membership – includes complimentary admission for the named member, and seven (7) additional guests per visit.

Your donation is tax deductible. Donations go toward funding our sea turtle rehabilitation program, repairs to existing exhibits, construction of new exhibits, conducting outreach and many more activities at the aquarium. Click on the link below labeled “Donate” to donate through paypal.

Volunteer Program

     Over the years, Gulf Specimen Marine Laboratory has had numerous volunteers and we are always looking for more people to help! As a non-profit, we rely on the work of volunteers to keep our mission and our facility going. Our volunteers have ranged from high school seniors and college students doing independent studies to scientists, educators, and CEO’s from business and industry. While some work is on the water, the majority is aquarium maintenance and animal care, plumbing, and working on our buildings and grounds. Field trips are an important part of Gulf Specimen’s work. We need aquarium docents who enjoy the energy of excited and exuberant school children. We also have a need for computer skills, graphics development, and data entry. Most importantly, we need fund raisers and proposal writers to keep it all going. If you are interested in volunteer opportunities, please contact us in the form below. Aquarist Internship Program

     The Aquarist Internship program is an on the job type training that explores biological supply, aquarium husbandry, marine life educational programs, and sea turtle rehabilitation. Our goal is to expose interns to all aspects of the operations of the aquarium and prepare them for their chosen career path. Internships typically last one semester and are counted for class credit if approved by your school. Interns are required to come in two days a week, 9am-5pm.
