Jack Rudloe, President and Founder of Gulf Specimen Marine Laboratory, receives the 2003 Gulf Guardian Award for Youth Education from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 4 Administrator Jimmy Palmer, and EPA Region 6 Administrator Richard E. Greene at the Southern States Environmental Conference in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Gulf Specimen also won the 9th Annual Governor's Community Investment Award recognizing the voluntary efforts of businesses and organizations invoved in reducing juvenile crime sponsored by the Florida Business Partners for Juvenile Justice, Inc. 2003 Statewide Delinquency Prevention Conference October 13-15, 2003.
In 2005 Gulf Specimen Marine Lab won the Wakulla County Chamber of Commerce's "Environmental Stewartship Award" for it's energy effecient geothermal aquarium heating and cooling systems and it's environmental education programs.
