Over the years Gulf Specimen Marine Laboratories has had numerous volunteers. They have ranged from high school seniors and college students doing independent studies to scientists, educators and CEOs from business and industry. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.

While some work is on the water, the majority is aquarium maintenance and animal care, plumbing, and working on our buildings and grounds.

Field trips are an important part of Gulf Specimen's work. We need aquarium docents who enjoy the energy of excited and exuberant school children. We also have a need for computer skills, graphics development and data entry. Most importantly, we need fund raisers and proposal writers to help keep it all going.
